Damn!
Out of all the stations on Boston's FM dial, why did Hot 97.7 WILD-FM have to be the one to be sold? Does this city really need another rock format station? Jam'n 94.5 is so corny that Hot 97.7 was my alternative on FM. I appreciated their gospel Sundays, the Time Tunnel (old school soul and R&B), and the daily mainstream hip hop and R&B. Radio One, of course, has business motivations, but I think they could've done more to grow their market share here if they had taken more time to understand the area better. Hopefully it won't be too long before another challenger to Jam'n reappears.
I'm with you, I'll miss WILD :-(

I can't believe it's gone already after the news was announced a day ago.

Wow! I was left town on the 21st of August and returned 10 days later to find that WILD was gone. What the F***! I grew up listening to this station. I can't beleive it's gone just like that. It was the only station that gave us something other than rock or rap 24/7 to listen to. There is a whole community out here that are not African American, such as the Latino community, that listened to WILD. Now we have nothing. I've always complained that Boston doesn't have enough variety in radio and now we have NO VARIETY. I go to other cities and they have such great music choices and Boston only has rock or rap. What a shame. Jam'n 94.5 and Kiss 108 don't cut it for me. Never did, never will. They've always been corney and will always be in my eyes, or should I say ears. If I want to listen to the same 20 songs in a loop, I can put my cd's on repeat and skip all the endless talk about nothing in between songs and the commercials. It seems that people think that if something works once, like Kiss, Jam'n or the many rock stations, they should do it over and over and over again. Whatever. Well, good bye to PATHETIC Boston radio, hello satellite radio. At least they give me choices.
